Oct 12, 16Penguin 4.0 does not necessarily penalise the website, but rather puts weight on the links or other ranking signals to limit the impact on spammy links and particular web pages with those spammy links. It's designed to devalue bad links, rather than penalise.
The dust is finally beginning to settle after the long-awaited rollout of Google's Penguin 4.0.
In short, the new Google Penguin update is designed to run on an ongoing basis, re-crawling and indexing the web in real time.
Penguin 4.0 does not necessarily penalise the website, but rather puts weight on the links or other ranking signals to limit the impact of spammy links and particular web pages with those spammy links. It's designed to devalue bad links, rather than penalise.
The new update may not require webmasters to disavow or request a reconsideration to Google to get the lifted if it's been penalised, which will mean a lot less time for webmasters to maintain negative SEO and consistently check for bad links.
The update is designed to remove the impact of spammy links on search results by not counting those links in the core algorithm by putting less weighted links in Search Engine Ranking Positions (SERPs) lower.
The Google update started on Friday, 23rd September 2016 which showed little effect on that particular day, however, we found that after a week of the rollout that SERPs movement was being seen which continued up until recently.
